PMTA Group Hike | Sunrise Hike

Get an early start to the day with a moderate 4.3 mile hike on the Dowdell’s Knob Loop. For the early risers, we will start from the Boot Top parking lot at 6am and hike west to Dowdell’s Knob for the sunrise at 7:36. Be sure to bring a flashlight. If 6am is too early for you, meet us at Dowdell’s Knob for the sunrise and then hike the second half of the loop. Refreshments will be provided for the sunrise.

Lads and lasses, proclaim your Scottish heritage by hiking in a kilt today! Meet at the Mollyhugger Hill parking lot by 10am for a moderate to strenuous 5.7 mile hike to the Rocky Point parking lot via the Pine Mountain and Boot Top trails. We will shuttle back to Mollyhugger.

Event is free, only a $5 parking pass is needed. Arrive early and bring your picnic and chair or blanket with you to the baseball field across from the Liberty Bell Pool on Hwy 354.

Dress up your team of (2-5 persons) and bring your camera to capture photographic evidence of park Leprechauns. Geared towards adults or families. A checklist and rules will be handed out. and participants will seek clues in the campground area and photograph them. It is not a race. Sign-Up to enter this amateur cooking contest or be a taster judge or hot pepper eater. Cooks must pre-register & pre-pay by Jan 11. Entry fee $12. Must cook at least 5 guarts of homemade chili, any style, and bring it in a crock pot. Awards for 12st, 2nd, place, Judges' Choice and People's Choice.
