Group Hike Fit Series I

Join us for our new hike fit series! Our first series will begin with a four-mile hike and four stations where you will complete exercises in an allotted time. At the halfway point we will have cold water available for refills.

We recommend bringing a yoga mat and a jump rope if you have one. You can complete jumping jacks instead of rope jumping if you choose. We will hike at a 25-minute mile pace.

Series One:

Station 1: 8 minutes

You will run through each exercise set as many times as you can within 8 minutes

  • Squats                                        20 reps
  • Sit Ups                                       20 reps
  • Tree Squat                                  20 seconds
  • Jumping Jacks or Jump Rope     20 reps

Station 2: 10 minutes

You will run through each exercise set as many times as you can within 10 minutes

  • Rock Tricep Press                         20 reps
  • Rock Bicep Curl                           20 reps
  • Elevated Rock Push Ups               20 reps
  • Side Step Ups                                20 reps

We will have a 15-minute break - cold water refills will be available at about mile two. You can bring a light snack.

Station 3: 10 minutes

You will run through each exercise set as many times as you can within 10 minutes

  • Rock Tricep Press                            20 reps
  • Plank                                               20 seconds
  • Rock Bicep Curl                              20 reps
  • Elevated Rock Push Ups                  20 reps
  • Plank                                               20 seconds
  • Side Step Ups                                  20 reps

Station 4: 8 minutes

You will run through each exercise set as many times as you can within 8 minutes

  • Squats                                         20 reps
  • Sit Ups                                        20 reps
  • Tree Squat                                   20 seconds
  • Bicycle Sit Ups                            20 reps
  • Jumping Jacks or Jump Rope      20 reps

We will finish up with a one-mile hike back to Park Office where we will have a 10-minute cooldown and stretching station.


There are ways to make this easier or harder. You can complete exercises with or without a pack and carry as much weight in your pack as you are comfortable with.  There will be a variety of size rock weights to complete exercises with as well. You can complete one round at each station or complete as many as you can in the allotted time. 

For Series I, we will meet at the Park Office and hike to Fox Den Cove parking area where we will take a break before making our way back to the Park Office.
