AT Experience | Three Forks to the Approach Trail Amicalola Falls

Join us for a two-day/one-night backpacking adventure on the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail and Approach Trail. This is great for beginners and the experienced. We will guide you through the whole experience. We will hike about 15 miles in 2 days and you will experience one night on the trail. 

We handle all of the planning and logistics. All you have to do is pack what is on our list that we provide you. You will need a backpack as you will carry your own gear.

Join a group of like-minded woman who will encourage and support each other. We all share the struggles, the rewards, and the laughter.

We will begin our adventure at Amicalola Falls State Park and shuttle to Three Forks where we will begin our hike. Please note that the shuttle will take about one hour.


ITINERARY

DAY 1: We will meet at the Visitors Center at Amicalola Falls State Park and shuttle to Three Forks where we will begin our trek at 11:00. The shuttle will pull off 10:00 sharp. We will hike about 4 miles to Springer Mountain where we will enjoy the views. We will then hike about another mile before making camp.

DAY 2: We will depart Black Gap Shelter after breakfast and make our way down the Approach Trail into Amicalola Falls. We will hike down the steps and stand before the beautiful falls and feel the mist coming off. As we follow the falls down you will hear the relaxing sound of the water. Our second day will be the most difficult but don’t worry we will take plenty of breaks.


WHAT YOU GET:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be able to carry your own gear (20 - 28 pounds)

  • You must be able to hike longer distances up to 8 miles

  • You must have your own backpack, tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag

  • Food - we will provide a list of what to bring
